Only four more weeks until Easter. Where has the time gone?!
I have two extra services to prepare for in the week before Easter, as well as regular Sunday worship. So I need to get a move on.
Now that we are two and a half weeks into Lent I wonder if you have come any closer to God in these days of preparation.
It seems to me I see his smiling face, his twinkling eyes, his arms outstretched in welcome and encouragement. He calls us all to run the race of life.
God does not only stand at the finishing line waiting, he runs with us, and lives within us. Run, with all your heart, your strength, and your mind.
The period leading up to Easter is a time of anticipation for those who follow Jesus. Take some time here to consider what Easter means for you. You might even like to share your thoughts by commenting on one or more of the Blog entries.
Easter Prayer and Labyrinth projects
Lenten thoughts from the minister of Melness and Tongue Parish in Sutherland.
During the six weeks of Lent 2009, the West Lothian congregations of Abercorn, and of Pardovan, Kingscavil and Winchburgh, together travelled two parallel journeys. One journey called Exploring Prayer. The other journey resulted in an artistic, craft-based, Easter Labyrinth reflecting on the journey of Jesus and his disciples through that first Easter.
Pictures and texts from the twelve Labyrinth scenes remain available to read below my Lenten thoughts from subsequent years. Thanks to Peter Kershaw, Peter Anderson, and Neil Paterson, for allowing us to use their photographs.
